Police identify man found dead in Elyria woods

ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) – Elyria police have identified the man who was found dead in the woods on Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Elyria Police Department on Monday, the Lorain County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the man as Walter Moody Jr. of Elyria.

Moody was reported as a missing person on August 30, according to the release.

It was reported just before 5:25 p.m. Thursday that a body was found in a wooded area near the 1100 block of Ford Road.

Detectives are working with the coroner’s office to investigate the circumstances surrounding Moody’s death, according to the release
