Police identify motorcyclist killed in crash as 32-year-old Knoxville man

A man killed in a fatal motorcycle crash March 23 has been identified as Travis Wilkerson, 32, of Knoxville. The crash remains under investigation by the Knoxville Police Department, a spokesperson said in a press release.

At around 7:40 a.m. March 23, officers responded to the intersection of Asheville Highway and Ruggles Ferry Pike for the crash, the release stated. Investigators say Wilkerson was traveling west on Asheville Highway when an SUV attempted to turn left onto Ruggles Ferry. Wilkerson's motorcycle struck the side of the SUV.

Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
