Police investigate fatality near train tracks in NW Oklahoma City

Police have identified the victim in Tuesday’s accident as 64-year-old Mauresia Hobbs.

While the events leading up to Hobbs’ death are still unclear, it is believed that she was picking something up by the tracks when she was struck by the train.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma Police Department says one person is confirmed dead in a accident on the train tracks at W Britton and Western.

McIntyre Law Chopper 4 is over the scene, where authorities say a pedestrian has been struck by a train.

According to Oklahoma City Police, Britton and Western will be shut down in all directions for several hours while crews continue working at the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and take an alternate route. Police recommend Wilshire and Hefner for east and westbound travel, and Broadway and Pennsylvania for north and southbound travel.
