Police said a crime did not take place after a man was found dead on Port Huron's north side early Monday.

Port Huron Police Lt. Chris Frazier said Tuesday the investigation into the death was handed over to the St. Clair County Medical Examiner's Office after it was determined the incident was not being investigated as a crime.

Authorities responded shortly after 9 a.m. to the 1000 block of Harker Street, where Frazier said a resident called police after spotting the 28-year-old man in their yard.

Frazier said the man was from Port Huron but not a resident of the home, and that they saw "no obvious signs of trauma."
