Police investigate fatal crash that killed one in Boone County Monday morning

The Boone County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash in Hebron, Kentucky, Monday morning that killed a driver.

Deputies were dispatched to North Bend Road, just north of Gateway Boulevard at 8:12 a.m., according to a release from the sheriff's office.

There were two cars traveling southbound on North Bend Road. The release states the collision first occurred in the travel portion of North Bend Road, which caused both vehicles to lose control off of the right side of the roadway. One vehicle continued along the embankment and maneuvered back on to North Bend Road where it stopped, facing south. The driver sustained minor injuries.

The other vehicle struck a telephone pole and the driver was pronounced dead at the crash site.

There were no passengers in either vehicle. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team will conduct the investigation and notify next of kin.

The southbound lanes of North Bend Road will remain shut down for approximately onehour from Wright Boulevard to Gateway Boulevard. Deputies were redirecting motorists travelingsouthbound at Wright Boulevard.
