Police investigate after man found shot to death in North Las Vegas apartment

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police said a man was found shot to death outside of a North Las Vegas apartment Wednesday morning.

According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of East Carey Avenue at around 11:45 a.m. on Feb. 14.

Officers arrived and found a man in his mid-30s who had been shot in the parking lot. Medical personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said no arrests have been made.

Two nearby schools, Jim Bridger Middle School and Quannah McCall Elementary School were initially placed on lockdown, though the lockdowns have since been lifted.

Detectives remained on the scene to investigate and said they believed this was an isolated incident.

The identification of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
