A News13 reporter at the scene saw nearly a dozen police vehicles, including multiple police K-9 units.

Little River resident Brandon Tysinger told News13 he found the body at about 7 a.m. while he was on his way into the Sherwin-Williams store off Plaza Place. He said he saw the body on the ground before going into the store.

Tysinger said the person had on a sweatshirt but was naked from the waist down. He also reported seeing blood around the body and on the side of the building.

Once police arrived, Tysinger said he was able to go into the store to buy paint but could not immediately leave because his truck was parked in the area that was taped off by police as part of the investigation.

As of about 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, police had cleared the area and the Sherwin-Williams store had reopened.

“Sherwin-Williams was open when I pulled up. They said that they were used to seeing homeless people there all the time and they said when they pulled in, they didn’t think anything of it because it was kind of still dark so they couldn’t see the blood spatter on the wall,” Tysinger said. “They just saw him laying there and they didn’t notice that he was naked or anything like that. He said they’re used to people sleeping there all the time.”

News13 has requested the arrest warrants and incident report from Myrtle Beach police.
