Police investigating deadly shooting in Fall River

Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Fall River Saturday night.

Officers responded to Bank Street around 5:18 p.m. for a report of shots fired, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Responding officers found a 44-year-old Fall River man suffering from a gunshot wound on a porch. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene

Another victim who had a minor injury on their hand was found nearby and was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital.

“Several individuals are currently being interviewed in regards to this incident and the investigation remains extremely active at this time,” the Bristol County DA’s office said in a statement.

The deceased victim was not identified so that the family could be notified.
