Police investigating early morning shooting at motel in Cobb County
Cobb County police are investigating an early morning shooting at motel that left one man dead.
Police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that officers responded around 4:45 a.m. to the Cumberland Lodge off South Cobb Drive in Marietta.

When they arrived, officers found a man, identified as 31-year-old Ricky Haney, shot in the stomach. Haney was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.
Cobb police arrested and charged 28-year-old Clarence Mitchell.

Investigators believe Haney and Mitchell got into an argument the day before the shooting. That led to another argument Wednesday morning.
Police say Mitchell fired one shot at Haney. Mitchel faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
