Police investigating east Lubbock deadly shooting

Lubbock police on Monday continued investigating a deadly shooting that left a 22-year-old man dead early Sunday in east Lubbock.

Lubbock police responding to a shots fired call near the intersection of East 42nd Street and Avenue A found Brandon Lloyd suffering a gunshot wound in the 100 block of East 42nd Street, according to a police news release.

Lloyd was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center where he died.

An initial investigation indicates Lloyd and another person were fired at in the area. Investigators are working to identify the shooter, but by Monday had not released a suspect description or other details about what may have prompted the shooting.
