Pedestrian killed in hit and run in Montgomery County, police say

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP) said it’s investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened in Gaithersburg on Friday.

Police said that at about 10:10 p.m., they were dispatched to the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive for the report of a hit-and-run collision between two cars and a pedestrian.

Man shot in Northeast DC

Officials said one of the cars was traveling west on Randolph Road when it mounted the curb and hit a man who was walking, causing him to fall into the road.

The man was then hit by another car – a white four-door Acura. The driver of the Acura fled.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 52-year-old Ronaldo Franzese of Silver Spring.

Police say the Acura may be a white 2009-2012 Acura TL, which is missing a fender line and may have damage on the front end near the ground.
