Four people injured, including children, in multi-car crash on Rt. 1 in Wrentham

Four people, including children, suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 1 late Saturday night in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

Officers responded to reports of a car crash on Route 1 between Madison and Thurston streets just before 9:30 p.m.

The two vehicles involved in the crash were spotted on the side of Route 1 south in the area of 900 Washington St., which is less than a mile from the Interstate 495 interchange.

The two vehicles involved in the crash police were a 2013 Jeep Wrangler operated by a 66-year-old Plymouth woman and a 2003 Honda CRV operated by an 18-year-old Wrentham woman.

According to state police, a preliminary investigation indicated that the Honda was traveling on Route 1 north when it turned left toward the parking lot of the Arbor Inn Motel and collided with the Jeep, which was traveling south on Route 1. As the Honda crossed over the double yellow line, the Jeep’s front end came into contact with the right rear side of the Honda.

Wrentham police said the four people were transported to hospitals in Rhode Island. There has been no update on the victims’ conditions.

The crash is under investigation.
