Man charged with murder in daytime stabbing at Dorchester transitional house for veterans

An arrest has been made following a deadly stabbing in Dorchester on Monday.

Eduardo Bonilla, 43, of Dorchester, is charged with murder.

Officers responding to a report of a stabbing in the area of 6 Hartford Street, a transitional house for veterans, found a victim who was in need of emergency medical treatment, according to the Boston Police Department.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His name has not been released.

In a statement, the Pine Street Inn said, “We’re aware of an incident at 6 Hartford Street in Dorchester, which serves as transitional housing for Veterans. As it is currently an ongoing police investigation, we do not have any further information to provide at this time.”

Bonilla will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Tuesday.
