Police investigating reported Wells Fargo bank robbery on North Main St, suspect on the run

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1600 North Main St.

The suspect reportedly entered the bank and presented a note to the teller, demanding cash while making physical threats.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber fled the scene.

As the suspect left the bank, they encountered an off-duty Florida FWC officer who worked at the bank. The officer gave chase, but the suspect managed to escape.

No injuries were reported, and no suspect description has been released. The JSO has stated that they do not believe the suspect has a weapon.

The JSO is urging anyone with information on the robbery to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
