Mayor shuts down local lodge after Steelton shooting, police investigating

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A local lodge is closed after the mayor of Steelton Borough declared a state of emergency following a Friday evening shooting that police are investigating.

A large police presence could be seen after shots were reportedly fired at the 100 block of Frank S. Brown Boulevard, in the area of the Cyrene Elks Lodge, just after 4:30 p.m., borough police said in a news release.

There were no victims from the shooting, but police said that they did find numerous shell casings and projectiles.

A state of emergency was declared by Steelton Borough Mayor Ciera Dent who described the Cryerne Lodge as a “public safety hazard” after the shooting
