Police kill two pit bulls after three people injured in Elizabeth

ELIZABETH – Police shot and killed two pit bulls after three people were injured on Amity Street on Tuesday morning.

Police responded around 7:40 a.m. to a home on the 300 block of Amity Street on a report of pit bulls fighting in a yard, authorities said. A person walked by with their dog and their dog got involved in the fight, authorities said.

The owners attempted to separate the dogs and were injured. Three adults went to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

Police shot two dogs and three others were taken by animal control, authorities said.
