Police looking for Akron shooting suspect

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Akron police are looking for a suspect after a woman was dropped off at the hospital with gunshot wounds on Friday.

According to a press release from the Akron Police Department, a 26-year-old woman was dropped off at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center with gunshot wounds around 6:20 a.m.

According to the release, the vehicle the victim arrived in was riddled with bullet holes.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unknown at this time, according to police. Based on preliminary information, the victim was shot outside a home on the 1300 block of Sweitzer Avenue. Shell casings were recovered from the scene.

Her injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening, according to the release.
