Mar. 3—SHARON — Police are looking for the driver of a 2019 Dodge Charger suspected in a hit-and-run accident early Tuesday.

Sharon police Capt. Travis Martwinski said the Charger's driver was speeding and ran a stop sign just after midnight Tuesday on Case Avenue at Pearl Street, hitting a pickup truck, causing it to flip over.

The driver and passenger of the Charger fled the area on foot. Police discovered that the Charger was a rental vehicle and not privately owned.

Responders had to remove Nebojsa Sormaz, 54, Sharon, the truck's driver, from his vehicle.

Sormaz was treated at a local hospital and released.

Although police said the Charger's driver caused the accident, Sormaz was charged with driving under the influence after failing a blood alcohol test. He was released to a sober party.
