Family of missing teen out of Alabama says she has been found safe

UPDATE: The family of Leah McDonald says she has been found safe.

Over the weekend, a social media post stated that McDonald has been found.

No further details have been released.

ORIGINAL: The Jacksonville Police Department in Alabama is asking for your help to find a 14-year-old girl who they say could be in the Atlanta or Smyrna area.

JPD said Leah McDonald was last seen on May 14, in the area of High Street in Jackson, Alabama and she has not returned.

Police said the U.S. Marshall is assisting them to help get McDonald back home.

McDonald’s photo has been circulating on social media for days.

Her family and friends listed a few areas to watch, including Atlanta and Smyrna, Georgia.

McDonald was last seen wearing a black shirt, brown shorts, and blue sneakers. Police said she may be traveling in a white car with a Florida tag.

She is 5′5, with black hair and brown eyes.
