Police looking for video in hunt for Fort Smith store clerk killer

Fort Smith police are hoping someone has video that might lead detectives to the shooter of a mother of four children who died when she was shot while working Friday night at Doug's Eastside Convenience Center.

Photos of the suspected shooter that have been released by police were captured from a surveillance video inside the store. Police have not released video from the store camera. Chanell Moore, 26, the clerk, was shot and killed during the robbery, police reported.

But investigators are asking residents and business owners in the area or neighborhood of the store for help with any other video surveillance footage from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday.

"Detectives have checked numerous residences and businesses looking for video of vehicles during that timeframe, but have been unable to make contact with several residents, or may not be aware of possible hidden cameras," a police spokesman stated in a Wednesday update.

"Specifically, we are looking for videos in the area of 91st Street and any street that connects to 91st, as well as Dallas Street and connecting streets; Meandering Way and connecting streets; and east and west of 91st Street on Rogers Avenue."
