Police: Man charged after firing gun at Cincinnati officer

A 21-year-old man is facing charges after police said he fired a gun at a Cincinnati officer Sunday.

Ke'Shun Beasley is charged with felonious assault on a police officer, Cincinnati police said in a news release, adding he was arrested around 7:35 a.m. Monday.

Officials said police initiated a traffic stop on a black Ford Focus at the 1200 block of Quebec Road around 12:03 a.m. Sunday.

As the vehicle slowed to a stop, Beasley, who was a backseat passenger in the vehicle, exited and fled on foot, police said.

An officer pursued him and during the chase Beasley "slightly turned and fired a single shot" toward the officer, the release states.

Officials said the officer was not struck and Beasley was able to momentarily evade police.

Beasley is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center, jail records show.
