Police: Man robs German American bank in Henderson, Kentucky

EVANSVILLE — The Henderson Police Department said officers responded to a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, the department said the robbery occurred at a German American bank branch. German American's website lists only one branch in Henderson, Kentucky, at 2 N. Green Street.

Police released a photo of the suspect, who reportedly has a small tattoo under his left eye. The photo shows a white male wearing a blue t-shirt, sunglasses and a baseball cap. The suspect also had an N-95 type face mask around his neck – but not covering his face – at the time of the robbery, according to the photos.

The department said in the Facebook post it does "not believe the community is in any type of danger from this incident."

A representative for Henderson Central Dispatch referred questions about the incident to the Henderson Police Department. The Courier & Press left a message with a department spokesperson.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the HPD investigations division at 270-831-1295 or Henderson Dispatch at 270-827-8700.
