Police: Man stabbed in head, arm at Starbucks in Loop

CHICAGO — A 52-year-old man was hospitalized after being stabbed in the head and arm during a verbal altercation at a Starbucks in the Loop.

According to the Chicago Police Department, officers responded to reports of a person with a knife at the Starbucks on the 200 block of South Michigan Avenue in the city’s Loop neighborhood at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a 52-year-old man had been involved in a verbal altercation with a 46-year-old man.

The altercation became physical and then 46-year-old produced a knife and stabbed the 52-year-old multiple times in the head and right arm. During the incident, the 46-year-old sustained a laceration to the right hand.

Both the suspect and the victim were transported to a local hospital in good condition.

The 46-year-old man was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
