Police: Man in stable condition after Uptown Pittsburgh shooting

Apr. 13—A man is in stable condition after police say he was shot in the leg in Pittsburgh's Uptown section Monday night.

Pittsburgh police responded to a Shotspotter alert in the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue around 10:50 p.m. where they found the victim who was conscious and alert, according to Public Safety Spokesman Maurice Matthews. The victim was transported to the hospital.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction, Matthews said. Police are investigating.

Part of Fifth Avenue between Stevenson and Pride streets was closed shortly before midnight due to incident.
