LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Clay Agnew of West Lafayette suffered a medical condition about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday and lost control of his northbound Subaru Outback on Sagamore Parkway near Schuyler Avenue, according to Lafayette police.

Agnew's SUV left the road, struck a pole, became airborne, crossed the eastbound lanes of Schuyler Avenue and struck four westbound cars waiting at the stoplight.

Knyoka Pruitt, 36, was one of the drivers of the cars struck by Agnew's SUV, according to Lafayette police.

Paramedics rushed her to a Lafayette hospital, police said.

She died shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello said, adding that Pruitt had identification that indicated she was either from Attica or Lafayette.

Police closed the roads between 5:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Pruitt's autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Costello said.
