Police, medical examiner investigating deaths of woman, child at Port St. Lucie hotel

Port St. Lucie police on January 22, 2022, investigated the deaths of a woman and a child found inside a hotel room at Towneplace Suites by Marriott.

PORT ST. LUCIE — An autopsy by the state Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death for a woman and a child found in a hotel room Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after noon Saturday, someone called 911 about a man at the Towneplace Suites by Marriott who was trying to make contact with a woman inside a hotel room, said Port St. Lucie Police Sgt. John Dellacroce. The hotel is located at 10460 Southwest Village Parkway, which is west of Interstate 95.

Officers knocked on the hotel room door but no one answered, Dellacroce said. They forced their way into the locked hotel room and found the woman and a child dead, he said.

The case remains under investigation.
