Police make up more than three-fourths of Plainfield's top 20 earners

The town of Plainfield paid $5,907,736.96 in gross pay for the fiscal 2023, up from $5,784,661.69 from the previous year. Sixteen of the town’s top 20 earners were police officers. The data was provided in response to a Freedom of Information request.

Fifteen men and five women were among the highest paid employees. The highest paid individual was Police Officer Ryan Barile, who made $153,059.66, up from the $128,716.49 he earned in fiscal 2022.

Police Officer Keith Johnson-Conway was the town’s second-highest earner, making $147,040.34 from July 2022 to June 2023. This total is up significantly from the $68,140.19 he made during fiscal 2022.

Seventeen Plainfield employees made more than $100,000 in the last fiscal year, an increase of six from fiscal 2022. Fifteen of the employees earning six figures were police officers.

Non-police officers in the top 20 include Finance Director Kelly Vachon, who earned $126,424.57, and Supervisor/Plant Operator Stephanie Baldino, who made $120,527.35. Vachon made $123,318.48 during fiscal 2022, while Baldino made $113,332.47 that fiscal year.

Other non-police officers in the top 20 were Plant Operator Edward Davenport, who earned $97,544.13, and Plant Operator Kyle Pomo, who made $86,859.14. Davenport saw his salary increase from fiscal 2022, as he earned $92,743.49 that year, while Pomo saw a slight decrease in his salary, earning $87,167.07 in fiscal 2022.
