Police officer witnesses fatal crash in front of Circle Pines police station Sunday morning
A man died early Sunday morning after he was ejected from his vehicle after crashing into a snowbank in front of a Circle Pines police station, authorities said.
The 2:39 a.m. crash was witnessed by a police officer at the Centennial Lakes Police Department who had stepped outside the police station at 54 North Road in Circle Pines. The officer saw the man driving eastbound on North Road when his vehicle crashed into a snowbank and overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Personnel from the Centennial Lakes Police Department, Columbia Heights Police Department, Centennial Fire District and Allina EMS arrived at the scene, found the man and attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash is under investigation by the Centennial Lakes Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
