Police: Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in DeLand
A woman died Friday night after being struck by a car in DeLand just south of the intersection of North Woodland Boulevard and Plymouth Avenue, an official said.
The woman was crossing North Woodland Boulevard near East Stetson Street just after 7 p.m. when she was hit by a southbound sedan, according to police. She was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The woman's name hasn't been released pending notification of next of kin, Vicki Karr, a DeLand police spokeswoman, said.
