Police pursue domestic violence suspect in 35-foot RV in Los Angeles

Police officers were in pursuit of a large RV driven by a domestic violence suspect in Los Angeles early Monday morning.

According to preliminary information from the Los Angeles Police Department, the domestic violence call was placed at 4:10 a.m. by a woman onboard the RV at an Arco gas station located at La Tijera Boulevard near 83rd Street.

When LAPD officers went to conduct the initial traffic stop, the RV failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated.

The RV made its way onto the southbound span of the 405 Freeway and drove to Long Beach before exiting the freeway at Cherry Avenue, navigating on surface streets and getting back on the 405, this time heading north.

The suspect eventually exited on Inglewood Boulevard and continued to drive down surface streets, police said.

According to officials, two French bulldogs exited the passenger side door at 5:12 a.m. followed by a woman, presumed to be the one who called police.

The chase eventually ended at Inglewood Boulevard and Manhattan Beach Boulevard about three minutes later. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man, was detained by CHP.

He was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department, who initiated the pursuit.
