Police release dash cam video of armed carjacking in Bethesda

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Montgomery County Department of Police released video of an armed carjacking that took place in Bethesda on Nov. 26.

Officers said the incident happened in the 7300 block of Wisconsin Ave. around 11:50 p.m.

Detectives said a man was in a parking space in his Porsche 911 when a Nissan Rogue stopped next to his car. The man said three people got out of the Nissan and that one person who was armed remained in the front passenger seat.

One of the accused carjackers pointed a handgun at the Porsche owner and demanded his car key. At this point, the person with the gun hit the Porsche owner with it.

The Porsche owner gave the carjackers his keys but they were not able to operate the Porche’s manual transmission.

The carjackers got back in the Nissan and left.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call police at 1-866-411-8477 or submit a tip online. Police said a reward of up to $10,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest.
