Police release details on fatal crash that closed Route 93 Tuesday
Apr. 23—A Berwick man involved in a crash in Hollenback Twp. on Tuesday morning lost his life.
The crash resulted in Route 93, between Sugarloaf Twp. and Nescopeck Twp., being closed until about 3 p.m. that day.
State police at Shickshinny said John H. Baumgartner, 58, suffered a fatal injury at the crash site.
He was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna south on Route 93 when the vehicle went off the right side of the road for an unknown reason just before 7:30 a.m., troopers said. His vehicle hit a traffic sign and two large logs laying on the ground before stopping.
The crash happened about 2,500 feet west of Old Berwick Highway.
