Woman arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood

A man is dead and a woman is behind bars after a shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood Thursday night.

The shooting happened just before 10:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of Park Hill Drive.

When officers responded, they found a man, later identified as Damien Jackson, 29, of Homestead by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, who had been shot inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, Pittsburgh police arrested 25-year-old Toddia Smiley in connection with the shooting.

Smiley is charged with one count of criminal homicide and one count of tampering with evidence.

Smiley was transported to Allegheny County Jail.
