Police search for armed suspect following deadly shooting south of Goldfield
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead and another injured Thursday morning in a shooting that occurred on the side of U.S. 95 near Goldfield, Nevada.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Esmeralda County in trying to locate the shooter. Sheriff Joe McGill told 8 News Now the shooting occurred around 4 a.m. about five miles south of Goldfield, which is about 185 miles northwest of Las Vegas. The investigation closed down a portion of U.S. 95.
“One victim is dead, another with a minor injury. Suspect is armed with an unknown rifle and believed to be in the area on foot,” McGill said.
