Police search for driver who fled on foot from South Brunswick fatal accident

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Authorities are asking for the public's health in finding suspects that fled the scene of a fatal multi-car accident at the intersection of Beekman Road near Old Beekman Road Thursday afternoon, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.

After receiving 911 calls about the crash, police went to the scene and saw four vehicles involved.

A backseat passenger in one vehicle, a Dodge Charger, was dead but the driver of that vehicle had fled on foot.

Three people in the other vehicles were injured, one seriously.

The deceased occupant’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities determined that a Dodge Charger was leaving the scene of a crime and crashed into the other three vehicles. Those vehicles were unrelated to the crime perpetrated by the suspects of the Charger, police said.

A search of the area was conducted using K9 and multiple officers, but the driver was not found.

Authorities are also asking for the public’s assistance in locating a dark-colored sedan that was in the area at the time of the crash.
