Brockton Ocean State Job Lot employee turns himself into police after shooting
BROCKTON — An employee of Ocean State Job Lot in Brockton who police say shot a man inside the store after a dispute on Sunday is in police custody.
The shooting occurred around noon inside the store, located at 105 Campanelli Industrial Drive (the site of the former Toys R Us), after the victim who was shot allegedly pulled a knife on an employee during an argument, Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte said.
Paramedics transported the shooting victim to the hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury, police said. According to reporting by The Enterprise’s media partner WCVB, the shooting victim was in police custody where he is being hospitalized.

On Sunday, investigators said they identified the gunman and were in the process of locating him.
On Monday morning, Duarte said the gunman, who was employed at Ocean State Job Lot, had turned himself into the Brockton police.
"He was placed in custody without incident this morning," he said.
The suspect's name was not released immediately.
The incident remains under investigation.
According to reporting by WCVB, a handwritten sign was posted on the Ocean State Job Lot's door saying the store would reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday.
When reached for comment on Monday, an employee at the Ocean State Job Lot in Brockton would not confirm if the store would be open or closed today.
