Suspect in Greensburg home invasion, robbery arrested

A suspect is in custody following a home invasion and robbery took place in Greensburg.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, the incident took place Tuesday night.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said Patrick Lee Rosenberry of Greensburg is accused of breaking into a home on Alwine Avenue, attacking a man inside and stealing a safe.

The stolen safe contained $2,500 in cash and $7,500 in silver coins and gold necklaces, according to the Trib.

Rosenberry is charged with burglary, robbery, aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

Police said the victim was upstairs in his room lying in bed when two men entered the residence, kicking in the back door. Police said they entered the victim’s bedroom, held him at gunpoint, hit him with a gun, kicked him and knocked out teeth.

Detectives said Rosenberry is responsible, along with another armed robber they’re working to identify. Rosenberry is also accused of threatening to shoot the man and hitting him in the head with a handgun.

“The only thing we know about the second suspect, he was described as a Black male with a blue mask over part of his face and was wearing a blue hoodie,” said Det. Justin Scalzo of the Greensburg Police Department.

“It kind of scared me because I’m a single mom,” said Laura, a neighbor. “At the time it happened, my back door was not locked because it was partially broke, but it did get fixed and I’m hoping this will not happen again.”
