Police seek help locating woman missing from Marne facility

Apr. 8—MARNE — Police are seeking help locating a 60-year-old woman who walked away from a care facility in Marne late Tuesday afternoon.

The missing and possibly endangered woman is Dixie Ausema.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Ausema left Serenity Homes, 830 Hayes St., on foot at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was last seen in the area of Ironwood and Eighth Avenue. She has since been seen in downtown Grand Rapids and is known to frequent homeless camps and the mission.

Ausema left without her medication and struggles with mental health issues, police said.

She is a white; 5-foot, 10-inches tall; and 250 pounds. She has short black hair and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
