Police seek information on St. Paul's West Side shooting that injured 36-year-old man

Jul. 22—St. Paul police are looking for information regarding a shooting that injured a Little Canada man Wednesday in St. Paul's West Side neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 100 block of George Street about 3 p.m. to find a 36-year-old man lying on the sidewalk where George, State and Cesar Chavez streets intersect.

The man, identified by police as Jesus Sandoval, was semi-conscious and suffering from several gunshot wounds in his back, side and arms, police said.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred about a half mile away at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Isabel Street. Witnesses told police someone in an SUV pulled up next to the car the victim was driving and opened fire. The victim then crashed his vehicle, stumbled out and collapsed on the sidewalk.

No suspects are currently in custody.
