Police seek suspects after woman robbed, killed near Greenline

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a woman who gave a ride to a group of people was shot, pulled out of her vehicle, robbed and left to die.

It happened in the afternoon on January 27 at an apartment complex on Johnson Circle, off Holmes near Chickasaw Country Club.

Police were able to get the story from the victim before she died. She told them several people asked for a ride from the area of Dwight and Pendleton.

When they got to the Eastern Heights Apartments complex, the group shot the victim while she was inside the vehicle, then pulled her out and laid her down on the concrete while they stole her purse and went through her pockets.

The suspects then ran away westbound on the Greenline trail, which runs next to the apartment complex.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Surveillance cameras at the apartments captured the suspects. Photos appear to show three or four people wearing hoodies and pajama pants running from the scene.
