Alexandria woman arrested on 2 charges after bicyclist hit and killed

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating multiple incidents of gun violence that happened over the holiday weekend, including one death on New Year's Eve.

An Alexandria woman arrested on a hit-and-run charge in the death of a bicyclist was driving under suspension, say police.

The Alexandria Police Department on Tuesday said 40-year-old Bo James Holloway of Alexandria was killed as he was bicycling in the 1200 block of MacArthur Drive around 10 p.m. Monday.

They asked the public for information on a red or maroon Hyundai that left the scene.

On Wednesday afternoon, police released a statement that said 36-year-old Katie V. Haddad had been arrested in the case, charged with felony hit-and-run and driving under suspension.
