Police say speed a factor in Mansfield moped wreck that left one man dead
Police are still investigating a moped wreck that left one man dead late Monday night.
The wreck took place on Park Avenue downtown about 11:45 p.m. Monday, according to Sgt. Paul Lumadue of the Mansfield Police Department.
Officers have not yet released the man's name or age because his family had not yet been made aware of his death.

The man is reported to have been driving along Park Avenue when he encountered a median near Central Park between Main and Diamond streets.
"It appears that he was going at excessive speed through there," Lumadue said.
Police have not yet determined how fast the man was driving his moped.
"He flipped off the moped and sustained a fatal injury," Lumadue said. "He wasn't wearing a helmet or anything."
The sergeant said a full report was still be compiled on the incident.
