A Cincinnati Public Schools stadium in the West End was evacuated Sunday after a nearby shooting, according to Cincinnati police District 1 desk officers.

Officers were called to Willard Stargel Stadium on Ezzard Charles Drive just after 1 p.m. for reports of shots fired outside.

The stadium was evacuated after police arrived on scene.

Around 6 p.m., a victim came to Mercy Health West Hospital with a bullet graze wound to the foot, police said.

A community youth football and cheerleading event was underway during the evacuation, according to the stadium schedule. It was not a school event.

Stargel Stadium hosts games for numerous community groups and Cincinnati schools, including Taft, Aiken, Hughes, Riverview East, Shroder and Gamble Montessori.
