LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Forty-three-year-old Jishshya Gaeta called police early Tuesday reporting she had been stabbed and was struggling to breath, according to police.

She called for help at the Marathon gas station at Twyckenham Boulevard and Poland Hill Road, but police said that is not the location where she was wounded.

Officers arrived about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday to find Gaeta with a cut across her stomach, according to police.

Gaeta provided police limited information about how she was cut or the location where she was attacked, police said.

An ambulance took Gaeta to a local hospital for treatment of her wound, police said.

Police are investigating the cutting and ask anyone with information about the crime to call detectives at 765-807-1200 or the We Tip Hotline at 800-782-7463.
