Police: Woman slashes state worker in the face at Myles Standish State Forest

CARVER – A woman slashed a state worker in the face after she was refused admittance to Myles Standish State Forest, the worker told police Saturday.

In a Facebook post, State Police said the attack occurred at Barrett's Pond at about 2 p.m. Saturday after the worker told the woman the pond gate was closed.

The woman and a male companion were seen leaving in a car headed toward Long Pond Road. The car was described as a dark-colored, older-model Toyota coupe.

State Police, including its air wing; Environmental Police; and police from Carver and Plymouth searched for the car but weren't able to find it.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation worker, who is 63, was not seriously hurt. He declined to be taken to a hospital and was treated at the scene by Carver emergency medical staff.
