Update: Police in Wyoming County ask for assistance in investigation of silicone mannequin

Feb. 13—UPDATE: Tunkhannock Twp. Police have requested that state police investigate the discovery of a silicone, anatomically correct mannequin.

A parent and child discovered a life-like foot sticking out of a bag while retrieving a ball from a creek along Route 307 on Sunday, according to a Facebook post by police Monday. Police described the item in the bag to be the size of a "small child."

From Sunday night:

Police responded to a report of human remains Sunday afternoon and found a "realistic mannequin" instead, officials said.

A caller found what appeared to be a human foot sticking out of a garbage bag in a creek near Lake Winola, Wyoming County Coroner Collin Lunger said.

Lunger's services were not needed: law enforcement opened the bag to find a mannequin.
