Political Notebook: Yates' meet-and-greet event Tuesday

Brian Yates, who is seeking the Place 4 seat on the Abilene City Council, will have a meet-the-candidate event from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

The event will be at Big Country Title, 3409 South 14th St. The public is invited.

Yates is facing Scott Beard for what will be a vacant seat on the council. Current Place 4 council member Weldon Hurt is running for mayor.
