Polk has recorded 6 monkeypox cases: 1 confirmed, 5 probable

The Florida Department of Health has recorded six cases of monkeypox in Polk County.

The department reported one case among a person in the 25-to-29 age group, two in 35-to-39 and one each in 40-to-44, 45-to-49 and 65-to-69. The agency lists one case as confirmed and the other five as probable.

The department had reported 1,317 cases statewide as of Tuesday. The overwhelming majority of those were in Miami-Dade County (513) and Broward County (446).
