Polk State College will host its 126th commencement with two ceremonies on May 5 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

Among the spring graduating class of 1,083 students, 86% are Polk County residents, Polk State said in a news release. The class includes residents of 15 other states. The youngest graduate is 16 and the oldest is 66.

The college will award 225 baccalaureate degrees and more than 220 bachelor’s degrees, the release said.

The ceremonies will feature remarks from Polk State President Angela Garcia Falconetti, Spring 2022 Distinguished Alumnus Marc Macaulay and Florida Sen. Kelli Stargel, R-Lakeland.

Macaulay, a 1977 graduate of Polk State, will be honored during the morning ceremony. As an actor, he has appeared in such movies and TV shows as “Monster,” “Premonition,” “Passenger 57,” “Miami Vice” and “Burn Notice.”
