The England women's football team will begin their World Cup campaign in Australia this weekend, with high expectations following their historic victory at Euro 2022.

The Lionesses will face Haiti in Brisbane on Saturday and are among the favourites to win the tournament.

UK viewers will be able to catch all 64 matches of this year's competition on terrestrial TV after a joint rights deal between the BBC and ITV was clinched after Fifa initially faced difficulties securing a deal.

Yahoo News UK has launched a poll to find out if you're enthusiastic about following England during the World Cup or are not really that interested.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman named an unchanged starting eleven for the entirety of her side's winning Euro 2022 campaign.

But the team that will line up against Haiti will look very different following the retirement of Ellen White and injuries to captain Leah Williamson, forward Beth Mead and midfielder Fran Kirby.

Following the opener, England face Denmark in Sydney before wrapping up the group stage against China in Adelaide, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout rounds.

The Euro 2022 final between England and Germany, which ended in a 2-1 victory for England in extra time, garnered a massive audience for the BBC.

It was aired on BBC One and attracted a peak audience of 17.4 million viewers, breaking records as the most-watched women's football game in British history.

The broadcast also obtained the highest peak audience of 2022.

Meanwhile, England's players have expressed their disappointment at talks with the Football Association over their bonus and commercial structures not being resolved before the start of the World Cup.

In a statement from the team posted on social media by captain Millie Bright, the Lionesses said they would "pause discussions, with full intentions of revisiting them following the tournament".

An FA spokesperson said: "We are fully focused on supporting the Lionesses at the World Cup and, as they have said, will continue discussions after the tournament."

Last month, Fifa announced a new financial distribution model to apply to this summer’s tournament.
